New Oregon nurse staffing law presented

A representative of the Oregon Nurses Association will talk on Thursday about how modifications to an Oregon law will change how nurses are staffed at hospitals.

Limiting admissions adds to the problem of overworked nurses. If patients cannot be admitted to the hospital, then they will return to their doctors. If their doctors cannot see them, then they will head to the ER, which adds to the paitent load in the ER. Then they are admitted to the hospital with a short staff. We need to change our approach to taking care of the sick to help people from getting too sick.
